Last day of my vacation

Last day of my vacation

Today is the last day of my vacation. To work from tomorrow. It would be nice if I am a 5 year old raising hell on a monday-morning,
rolling all over the floor, crying 'I don't wanna go'. Thinking of that gives me night mares of turning five. At 2,almost 2, she can raise
my BP to extremes in a matter of seconds, wonder how it would be when she is 5.

She fell sick last week. Ah, such a tiring week. Don't even ask me how was the week, unless you want me to go on all night.
Nephy fell sick. I hate those times, coz its so difficult to get her to step down from my arms. Nephy has this habit of sleeping
on top of me, or on my lap when her sleep gets disturbed. I would ease her down after a while. When she is sick, its almost
impossible to ease her down. She would wake up screaming, everytime I try to.

Now she is fine. But the sickness has made her lose all her weight. I recently got her hair
all removed at St.Antony's church. She looks like a skeleton, with a big bald head. Don't be alrmed, when you see her.

Her dad is rocking her to sleep with the rhymes playing... He has been trying to get her sleep for over an hour...
Now, came the song 'Johnny Johnny' and Nephy in all joy, jumped up to say 'pa-pa'! There goes all the rocking! Poor daddy!
See ya for now! Mom is gonna take over....

How my vacation sucked big time

How my vacation sucked big time?

Yep. my vacation is almost over, and it seems like I am just now getting up and catching up. I've been down with fever since Christmas. Yaaru kannu pattucho theriyala! Avan kannu avinji poga!
(For the benefit of those, who don't speak Tamil I said, may ur bloody evil eye boil out of its bloody sockets)

Am up this week, and its already time to leave back to SG. How the thought of that place sickens me. Anyhow, my mom is coming with me, and I've been telling the whole world, how am not gonna send her back until the next Christmas.

Nephy is great. Just a lil cold & cough, and Ofcourse, sleepless nights. When will that female ever learn to sleep. A slight disturbance to the little missy's beauty sleep and you've got her tossing and turning and crying and whining the whole night. I did have a tough time with the fever raging and Nephy whining. Thank God for moms!

So, then the fever subsided and Betsy slipped into something that she is quite embarassed about. You are the butt of all stupic childish jokes when you are down with that. Am just not gonna tell you what it is.

So it is. and my vacation is coming to an end. I almost forgot. Christmas went well, New year also. Signing off, a weak being who hasn't had biriyani since Christmas :(

Teething... Time...

Teething Time

"Ouch.... That hurts" Somebody is teething, terrible times, painful nights. You got it all wrong. It isn't Nephy. Its her daddy who is teething. Some (damn) wisdom teeth, it seems. Isn't it amazing..... at the grand age of 30, sorry almost 30, Antony Prince is teething and so complaining. Yesterday, I asked him to help me with a chore, and he started whining, 'My teeth hurts, I am on medicine...blah... blah..blah'. Ok Darling, am not asking you to help me with your teeth. But, I let him go. Ain't I generous?

I don't remember Nephy's teething times.Until she turned one, nights were nightmares. She would wake up and cry every 2 hours or so. So, all nights were as bad as teething nights. At least, she didn't complain.Thank God, babies don't start talking when they are born.

Hey, did I tell you that my lil baby calls her daddy 'Toe' . 'Toe' was one of her first set of words, until recently I didn't realise it was her dad that she was calling as 'Toe'. The other day, Anto was somewhere out of sight. I called out to him 'Anto..''Anto..', and there was this small echo 'Toe...''Toe...'. I tried calling him again, and the little voice echoed. Thats when the grand discovery happened. All along, she had called him Toe, and neither he nor I realised it. Since it took us this long, she learned to call him 'appa' and had discarded the 'Toe'. She must have thought her parents are really dumb. Dumb dad! Dumb mom!

Nephy's Vocab

Nephy's vocab

Finally, Nephy is talking. Her most often used word is No-No. So much No-no, it would be very much apt if I were to rename her as Nephy 'No-No' Sharon. No for this, No for that,No for everything.
Her next often used word is 'Dammaa'(Damaal, how you fall down). So, the next time you meet her, try asking her What happened to London Bridge and she would promptly answer you with a 'Dammaa'. Every time she takes a fall, she would cry saying 'Dammaa..Dammaa' followed by a good number of angry stomping on the place where she fell. I guess, the beating that the placegets is directly proportional to the time that the fall hurts.
Sometimes,She would pick up someone's mobile and talk into it to some imaginary caller for a good while. The other day, I was at work. I called home to find what she was up to. Nephy took the phone and said 'Amma...chaapta?'. I was wonderfully surprised. All this while, her way of asking if you've had your food is to hold her hand like she were holding a butterfly, and hold it near my mouth and say 'Amma...yapya?'. Funny lil Creature!
The other thing she says is Apple. Say 'A for' and she would say Apple. Didn't I tell ya that she is smart. Do not try 'B for'. She would say Apple again. C'mon, She is just a baby. Try 'C for'. She would start screaming 'No-No No-No'.She hates Cats. So, don't you dare say 'C for Cat'.
Will update ya with the rest of her vocabs later. Gotta get back to work ;)

Yesterday night at 2...

Yesterday night at 2...

It must about 2 am when Nephy woke up crying, rather screaming. Nothing

unusual, this is something that happens every single night. She usually calms down when I

give her her milk bottle. The time taken to mix up her drink (milk) is directly proportional

to her screams. The lesser the time taken, the lesser the screams. The greater the time

taken, the screams could get well beyond 20,000 decibels... tats unbearable. I am the

probably the fastest in the feat, and Anto.... (He would have to speak for himself)

Yesterday was no ordinary night. Her milk bottle didn't work its magic. She cried and

cried, pointing to the living room. Then we came to the living room. I tried to get her

back to sleep, but no good. The usual methods, the rocking, the walking, the

aaa-aaa-aa song, nothing worked. The crying and the confusing signs that she did

just went on and on.

Atlas, my mom-in-law thought of the last thing that she was playing with last night.

It happened to be my stitching kit and all the threads inside. It was then brought out,

and she happily grabbed it and asked every one of us to sit down with her and play.

You must have seen that big grin on her face then. Unbelievably, BIG!!

At 3:00, I slipped into my bedroom, leaving Nephy and her grandma to play. It must be

around 4, when she came back crying into the bedroom. Then the milk-bottle kinda

worked its magic. After finishing her milk, she sat up on the bed and kept staring into

my face for a good while. I slowly eased her into bed and patted her back gently and

before I knew, she drifted off to sleep.

Silly female! Play with threads in the middle of the night! How many days were you

planning this silly game!

She is playing with it right now, as am writing... wonder what tonight holds....

My 3rd wedding anniversary

My 3rd wedding Anniversary

Its my 3rd wedding anniversary today. The day started off with a little mystery. I went to have my bath, and absolutely no signs of Anto & my mom-in-law. He came back with a cake and a bouquet, and he & his mom thought, they had actually gotten away with hiding it from me. Haiyo, haiyo, silly people, I know it all.

Then, we all got ready, put on new clothes... and then, ta-daa... the cake & the bouquet. Ok folks, I had to pretend that I was totally surprised. I'll give that much to ya for all the trouble. Well, it was nice.

Next, in the agenda... Mass @11 @ Our Lady Of Lourdes Church. We reached there a bit late. I wud be way too ashamed to tell u how late. :) Lunch at Spice Junction. Not bad. Then back home and end of story.

Wherz the gift? Nothing this time .... Poor Betsy :(

Last time, I was way too smart. I just drifted off into a jewel shop and chose a earring and claimed it my anniversary gift.... hehehe... hahaha.... I was such a devil and am so proud of it.
This time, Anto got smart. He didn't budge outta home yesterday. Today, church & hotel and no shopping(Grrr...), lest, I drift off.

Lets hope the next anniversary brings better gains! Let us pray.

Am I on a holiday?

Am I on a holiday?

Thats how the past few weeks had been. It feels just like a holiday to me. I started going back to week, as u guys know. Its gonna be one month.

Do I miss my baby? Hmm, well, U know... I do...
DO I miss her so much that I would give up my job? I don't know... I don't think so...
Do I enjoy going back to work? Immensely....
Hows work? Pretty good....Interesting
Does she miss me? Tricky Question

In the morning, I pack her off with her grand-pa to go to the playground. She waves Bye, blows kisses and leaves. I get ready and then I leave. She comes back and the little one is too little to even know that amma has gone off somewhere. Seems she doesn't even look for me. Thank God for small favours! When I get back in the evening, she comes running to greet me. Worth a million dollars! And gets back to her play things the next minute.

I do miss all the little things that she does. I miss running behind her to get her to eat. But, I have to admit, that am definitely having a good time at work. Going back to work, has done me loads of good. But on the other hand, am not sure if what I did is good for my baby.
